We have been breeding and raising Dorper sheep since 2004. Dorpers are a great "meat sheep" that are easy to handle, hardy and very fertile. We have a flock of about 30 registered fullblood and purebred Dorper ewes along with a registered fullblood Dorper ram that we run on approximately 100 acres just south of Mineral Wells, Texas. Our flock is low maintenance and makes a living on pasture with supplementation as needed.
In addition to the Dorpers, we also run about 30 head of Spanish/Boer crossbred does and a buck. The crossbred goats are a good complement to the Dorpers for our area. Livestock guard dogs and border collies are very important in helping us maintain our Dorpers and goats.
